Uganda international flyer, Philip Wokorach, has moved up the ladder signing for France Championship side Association sportive de Bédarrides et Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Philip was this evening announced as one of at least 7 signings acquired by the club ahead of the 2020-2021 season.
He leaves the French side, Bourges XV, after one year, shining for them in a season which saw the side go unbeaten and earning progression to the fourth tier – Fédérale 2.
Le championnat de France de première division fédérale, a.k.a. Fédérale 1 (D3), is a Frenchrugby union club competition, the highest level of amateur rugby, and has been in existence since 2000.
Wokorach joins Mosese Ratuvou, formerly of LOU Pau, Theo Solano, Adamir Stankovic, Alex Vaffier, Enzo Ravanello, Wilfried Pupier, Rosario Mastrosimone, and Mosese Ratuvou as the new boys at ASBC.
Philip Wokoarch signed for Bourges last year, from Kenyan side Kabras RFC, signing a one-year contract.
Philip Wokorach’s rugby journey started with tag rugby as a young boy and has since gone on to play (and win) at school level (Hana) before moving to Buffaloes, Heathens, and the move East to Kenya. It was from Kenya that Philip Wokorach had trials at Bourges before fully signing on.
Rugby in France, just like Uganda, is on suspension, due to the Corona Pandemic as the relevant authorities find a way around it.
